MUSCAT / The Ministry of Manpower announced that a draft resolution for the migrant worker was approved, while the Ministry’s spokesperson announced that expatriates in violation of this decision would be deported immediately.
The Omani Ministry of Manpower announced that the Joint Inspection Teams in the city of Muscat deported about 644 workers, who meet the conditions for violations issued by the Ministry of Manpower, which were seized in the search for violators of the laws and regulations, and the Ministry of Manpower will deport them to their countries early next month, This comes within the framework of applying the provisions of the labor law in the Sultanate to regulate the labor market and to verify the data of all expatriate workers.
In its statements, the Ministry of Manpower stressed the need to abide by the laws and decisions regarding foreign employment, and expatriates and workers must renew all their papers to avoid and abide by all the laws of the Sultanate.
In a statement to the Omani government, a question source announced that the employment in the Sultanate has exceeded 1.79 million expatriates, most of whom are Asian workers. On the other hand, the number of foreigners is 2 million and with adjustments in the data lines, the total number of arrivals in the Sultanate is about 42% of the total. The Sultanate of Oman has a population of 4.780 million.
