Qatar takes a new decision on the sponsor
Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim has issued a decree amending the provisions of the law regulating the entry, exit and residence of expatriates in the country.
Hence, the competent authority in the Ministry of Interior can issue entry permits and grant residence permits for a period of five years, renewable, without applying for investors subject to the provisions of the law governing the investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activity.
They are renewed in accordance with the provisions of the law governing the acquisition and use of real estate by non-Qataris for a period of five years, automatically during the period of ownership or use of real estate.
In the past, prior to this new decision, the State of Qatar required all investors to find a sponsor, whether a Qatari company or a Qatari individual, to work and reside in it.
