Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) announced that the value of loans granted by banks increased by 3 percent to 1544.2 billion riyals by the end of last August. (The dollar equals 3,750 rials)
The monthly bulletin issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) showed that loans extended by Saudi banks to non-financial government institutions and the private sector increased by 3% by the end of August to 1544.2 billion riyals compared to 1505.5 billion riyals in the same month of 2018.
According to SAMA, loans by Saudi banks to the private sector increased by the end of August 2019 to reach SR1487 billion, up 2 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, which amounted to SR1452 billion.
Loans to non-financial government institutions amounted to SAR 57.2 billion at the end of August, up 6 percent from the same period in 2018.
